Whether you have chronic pain, an acute injury, digestive or other organ issues, hormone imbalances, everyday stress or depression and anxiety, acupuncture can help you feel and function better. Community Acupuncture is:
Affordable: Sliding Scale Fees - $20-$40. You decide what you can afford for your treatments, so that you can get as many treatments as you need to reach your health and well being goals.
Effective: Acupuncture is cumulative, meaning the more you get, the stronger the effect! Because you can afford to get the treatments you really need, the acupuncture is very effective and you can truly enjoy the benefits of better health, less pain, and more peace.
Relaxing: When you can enter the space and relax, half the work is already done. All aspects of the clinic have been tailored with each person's relaxation in mind. When you are relaxed, your body has the space and time to begin the natural healing process that acupuncture helps accelerate and stabilize.
Community oriented: It's often easier to try something new with loved ones. Bring your friends, family, co-workers or neighbors. We’re all in this together!

Melonie Burgess, AP
Melonie is a Florida Licensed Acupuncture Physician. She has always been interested in medicine and helping people. She was certified as an EMT after college. Her interest in Chinese Medicine came when she visited a close friend who was attending Acupuncture school in New Mexico. She began to understand that there are many ways to heal the body, and too many times Western medicine relies on pharmaceuticals. This led to her pursuit of an education in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She graduated from the East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Florida, in 2003.
She relocated back to Sarasota Florida, where she co-founded Sarasota Community Acupuncture in 2008. After 10 years of practicing, she sold the clinic and went on the road with her son, traveling the US, for a year. She relocated to Palm Harbor, Florida in 2019.
Melonie has been a long time practitioner of, and advocate for, community style acupuncture. She strongly believes in the accessibility of acupuncture for everyone. After giving birth to her son at home, with a midwife, she developed a special love for treating pregnancy and birth preparation.
